Thanks Christian!! Yes, that's insulting. In particular when taking into account that the current driver works perfectly with Yosemite, and "writing a new driver" means changing the stupid version check in the installer. Unforunately, that's Canon's standard behaviour. If you happen to own a DSLR camera, you will know that the required apps for those image transfer to Mac also won't install on the one or two latest OS X releases.
Again just because of the installer.

So if you don't upgrade your OS but rather re-install, you can't use your camera any longer. Thanks, the trick above seems to work fine with my Canon i Deleted the BJ and IJ directories, restarted and downloaded the last driver from the uk Canon site v Think difference from my attempts was the xcode install when installing the driver, it obviously did something extra.
Can now printer from Lightroom CC on Yosemite. Full previous thread title: Canon Printer Driver in Yosemite Selphy won't install" I know this thread is old, but as I've started it Apparently haven't tried, but many others who have posted elsewhere printing via USB does work. I've also tried to create a WLAN connection using the Selphy's ad-hoc mode which works fine for mobile devices , but even though my Mac connects to the Selphy's network just fine, it doesn't find the printer.
Just for everybody to have a complete picture on Canon's support: The situation under Windows is no better.
The Win8. The completely new driver for the new Selphy CP it's version 1. I have had some rather intense email exchange with Canon support on the matter, but of course they were completely unhelpful what should they do if there are no drivers And of course they had to strongly advise against using any kind of hacked drivers or even drivers intended for a different model. I tried to install this driver to get my CP working to no avail.
I deleted every possible Canon file, extension, etc.
A newer version of the driver is already installed. I have restarted my Mac Mini many times including emptying the trash to be sure the files are deleted. Works like a charm. I'm not sure what you're trying to say there, Philotech, but the easiest way to install an app from an unidentified developer without changing the security settings is by simply right clicking on the app icon and then selecting the "Open" command.
After confirming the dialog box, that app will open normally from then on. This thread made me check my Selphy as the driver was already installed under a Mavericks, my Selphy was still available in the Control Panels printer list.unucfasa.tk

But sadly, any attempt to print something results in an error message can't open printer, error number I removed the printer, updated the driver by using the driver package made available by ceo77, and finally re-adding the printer. That didn't help. Does anybody have an idea to get my printer working again under Yosemite?
Thought I'd post an Update to my problem, in case anybody is still stuck. This is How I did it: Please perform the following to remove the currently installed drivers: If any items are not listed, move on to the next step. Open the hard drive Macintosh HD. Open the 'Library' folder. Open the 'Printers' folder. Open the 'Canon' folder. Return to the 'Library' folder. Open the 'Receipts' folder. Locate any items related to your printer and send them to the trash. However, leave the 'Canon Printer Drivers.
Open 'Image Capture'. Open the 'Twain Data Sources' folder. Send any Canon files related to your printer to the trash. Open the Applications folder.
